Sharing CenterAmazing StoriesCleaning Up with the Army Corps of EngineersMy name is Lonnie and I am 13 years old. I am a home schooled student with American. I love our environment and enjoy keeping it clean. Every summer during the month of August, I get together with a group from the Army Corps Of Engineers. We work together to clean the shorelines of Lake Allatoona in Atlanta Georgia. We gather bottles, glass, metal objects, poles, batteries etc from our shorelines. This is a wonderful opportunity for me since I want to be an environmental engineer. I also enjoy collecting badges from the Corps for doing my job and look forward to the years to come. Sincerely, Lonnie, age: 13.
